A rod pocket window valance with a shaped hem and long sides frames this double window in our client’s home. Installed on a continental rod this valance can easily be removed for dry cleaning which is exactly what the client wanted.
The embroidered floral fabric makes the design interesting. It is completely lined to give the fabric body and helps the window treatment to hang beautifully.

This tailored bay window valance (click to enlarge for best view) complements the client’s decorative painted gray walls and cream colored tub and tile. The yellow and cream in the fabric brightens up the room and provides the client with an opportunity to add these colors in towels, rugs, and accessories. We chose an Ikat pattern from Fabricut and added a 2″ band in a solid gray to give the design detail on the hem. A small welt at the top of the valance provides a clean line. And, to make it easy to take down for dry cleaning when needed we added Velcro to the tacking strip. The client can easily pull the valance off and reinstall on her own without the help of an installer. Her comment……”I love the look!”

A shaped cornice design using a faux silk fabric with a textured velvet fabric for the center section made a beautiful addition to this clients bathroom window. Chair ties with tassels are elegantly draped adding detail and interest. Designed by Terry Kral. Like this?
This valance design is one of my favorites and is a perfect application for wide expansive windows or to wrap around a bay. I love how it softens the windows. I embellished the design with beaded trim on the hem and used decorative hardware to add some jewelry. These touches take this window treatment from ordinary to extraordinary. See the two photos. Valance design and bathroom accessories give the finishing touch. Designed by Terry Kral.
Tailored valances like this one pictured with pleats and jabots is a nice way to add style and color to a room. Notice there is opportunity to add banding and trims to this design to create a design uniquely yours. This tailored pleated valance with side tails has a more formal look and could be paired with draperies, sheers, roman shades, Silhouettes or Vignette window shades and more!
